The Woodland Experience

What to expect?

Arrive early, bring a picnic blanket, and settle in.

Shows at The Clay Pit are an outdoor experience - incredible music in a beautiful setting, paired with delicious food, refreshing drinks and the warmth and glow of our campfire.

Incredible music

We're excited to host some of the most exciting live artists in the UK right now, alongside festival favourites and up-and-coming talent. You might find a new favourite band!

Limited tickets

Nestled amongst the trees in our old clay mining pit, this is a chance to enjoy live music up-close and outdoors. Limited tickets, one-off gigs, and plenty of "you should have been there" moments.

Delicious food & drink

Grab a drink from the bar (maybe a beer brewed on-site at Missing Link Brewery?), tuck in to some delicious street food, and soak up the atmosphere throughout the evening.

Amazing atmosphere

The Clay Pit is smaller than a festival, cooler than a gig - and absolutely wins for atmosphere. Arrive early to grab a space on our woodland benches or logs, bring a picnic blanket to stay cosy, and as the sun sets, we'll get the campfire going.

Access is via Selsfield Road only. The entrance from the main road can be found here:

Or use postcode RH19 4QS and follow signs for Chiddinglye.

Follow event signage and stewards on site, where we have ample grass car parking available.

The nearest train stations to The Clay Pit are:

Because of our rural location, you may need to pre-book a taxi for the last part of your journey.

The venue is approximately 10 minutes drive from East Grinstead and 15 minutes from Haywards Heath and Three Bridges.

If you’re local (and feeling adventurous!) it is possible to reach the venue on public footpaths from Ardingly and West Hoathly, for which we would recommend an OS Map.
